Networking and Scalable Solutions
Agfa IMPAX

The Digital Imaging Solution for Ophthalmology
IMPAX for Ophthalmology is the first digital solution for
ophthalmologists and other eyecare specialists that utilizes industry
standards and components to view, store and distribute images from a
variety of image sources.
Agfa is a leader in both traditional imaging and Picture Archiving and
Communications Systems (PACS) with systems deployed in radiology
departments, specialty departments, clinics and group practices
worldwide. Working with Ophthalmic Imaging Systems (OIS) and MediVision,
Agfa has created a digital imaging solution for the specific needs of
eyecare specialists and professionals.
The IMPAX for Ophthalmology network solution is the key to improved
efficiency. Users enjoy on-demand access to images, data, analysis and
reports from one workstation.
IMPAX for Ophthalmology gives eyecare specialists a powerful new tool to
leverage image information to improve services.
Working from the convenience of a workstation in their office, group
suite, or hospital department, ophthalmologists can:
 |
Retrieve images from fundus
cameras, slit lamps, ultrasound and other imaging modalities, film
digitizers and any other modality anywhere on the network |
 |
Change contrast levels to more clearly define details |
 |
Zoom in with far greater accuracy |
 |
Share images with colleagues
and referring physicians over intranets and internets |
 |
Output images to improve
patient education and/or make presentations |
 |
Compare pre- and post-treatment
images |
What is IMPAX for
Ophthalmology?
PACS allows medical
images to be received, distributed, displayed and archived digitally for more
effective patient diagnosis and treatment.
Agfa’s IMPAX for
Ophthalmology integrates OIS capture and display stations with other Agfa
software and hardware, facilitating patient image and information management in
an office or hospital setting. This unified system allows ophthalmologists to
plan for treatment and measure outcomes more efficiently.
System Solutions for
Offices or Departments
IMPAX for
Ophthalmology is designed to grow and adapt to the changing needs of its users.
You can start with
OIS’s WinStation™ for image acquisition and a single Agfa IMPAX WEB1000 to
facilitate web distribution of images, so that results can be shared with
colleagues within the clinic or at distant locations.
When you’re ready,
you can network additional workstations and add an IMPAX® Basix™ Storage Server
for digital archiving. Later, you can add a CD or DVD jukebox to manage all your
images online.
